This is no doubt an unprecedented time for all of us. And whilst I'm not going to go on about how we need to look within and find meaning in our lives and use this time to figure out what matters - I know there are plenty of philosophical quotes and passages coming out right now. But what I will say, is that having a little bit of extra time in the morning has allowed me room for more of a morning routine. With very small kids in the house, I cannot say I am consistent everyday, but I have certainly managed to devote more time to myself as soon as I wake up, without having the morning breakfast rush and nursery drop-off. And one thing I was meaning to get done for so long but just hadn't got down to, was creating a Vision Board. The reason why I think it is such an incredible time to do one right now is because life as we know is changing. And even if you don't realise it, you are changing. The fundamentals in your life are changing. The people around you are changing. With all this change, it is important to look within and figure out how you want your life to look like once this is over. What do you want your new normal to look like? A great starting place for a Vision Board is Pinterest. Start by thinking about the things you want to cultivate more of in your life, the things you wished you had more time for right now, whether it's a particular quality, or a hobby, or a place you want to go after this. Once you have your Vision Board ready, put it in a space where you will see it every single day, and devote one minute (I prefer in the morning before I start my day) looking at the things on your vision board, and relish in them. Think about how you will feel once you have achieved them. This is profoundly powerful, and really has the capability to shift you into a positive mindset before you start your day. Being in quarantine has also taught me the importance of filling your space with things that simply make you happy. Regardless of whether it clutters your space, or ruins the perfectly colour coordinated living room - if something lifts you up, fills you with joy, or sparks a happy memory, keep it close by and relish in that feeling every moment you have.
