6 Healthy Easter Treat Ideas

With Easter around the corner, and the supermarkets filled with candies everywhere, it's hard to create some sort of balance around these kind of occasions. So here, we've rounded up some healthy treat ideas you can make with your little one!

1. Easter Bunny Fruit Platter

Super fun, and actually not that hard to put together!

2. Bunny Fruit Salad

All you need for this one is a bunny cookie cutter, mix in with berries and you're good to go.

3. No-Bake Easter Fruit Tarts

You will need: 1 cup almond butter | 1/4 cup honey | 2 tsp vanilla extract | 1/4 tsp salt | 2 cup oats | 3/4 cup vanilla flavour greek yogurt | 3/4 cup strawberries | 3/4 cup blueberries | 1 medium banana | 3/4 cup green grapes

Directions: In a microwave safe bowl, add almond butter, honey, vanilla and salt.  Microwave for 20 seconds, then stir until smooth. Take 1 cup of the oats and place in a blender. Blend until the oats are finely chopped and resembles flour. Set aside. Add the other cup of oats to the almond butter mixture and stir.  Slowly add in a little of your homemade oat flour at a time until you get a mixture that you can form into a crust.  Depending on your brand almond butter the amount of flour may vary. Take small amounts of the mixture and form Easter egg shaped disks. Place onto parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup. Once all the Easter eggs are formed, spread on a layer of greek yogurt. Top with sliced fruit to make your designs and enjoy!

4. Easter Bunny Snack Board

Something savoury, filled with so much goodness, this will sure to get the kids eating their veggies.

5. Special Easter Picnic

This is one of my favourites on this list - all you need is some large plastic eggs, and fill them with a variety of sweet and savoury snacks. Add to an egg carton box for an extra fun touch.

6. No-Bake Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Easter Nests

These take 15 minutes to make from start to finish! You will need: 1/2 cup natural peanut butter | 1/4 cup honey | 1/2 tsp salt | 1/4 cup coconut oil | 1 tsp vanilla | 2 tbsp cocoa powder | 1 cup quick cooking oats | 1/4 cup shredded coconut

Directions: Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Set aside. Combine peanut butter, honey salt and coconut oil in a saucepan and heat until combined. Add vanilla and cocoa powder. Stir until well combined. Add quick-cooking oats and mix well. Add coconut and stir until completely combined. Drop 1 tbsp portions of mixture onto your prepared baking sheet. Press into the shape of nests. Continue until you’ve used all your cookie mixture. Let cool in the refrigerator or freezer until hardened. Top with your favourite candy eggs. Serve cool or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
